The AA General Service Conference is held each year in New York, New York where Delegates representing Areas from all across Canada and the United States meet with trustees, committees and board members of World Services for the purpose of ensuring Alcoholics Anonymous remain focused on carrying the message to the alcoholic who still suffers.
AA is often referred to as an upside down pyramid. The AA groups, as dictated through the Charter and their individual group consciousness, have ultimate authority over the fellowship. The trustees and board members of the General Service Office are simply granted immediate authority by the groups to carry out it’s daily operations and business functions. The General Service Conference therefor, is the ultimate expression of AA individual group’s conscious as expressed through their chosen representatives.
